The Zappa is a modernized OSF
(Old School Fish).
After years of riding and experimenting with OSF's, I have designed the Zappa based on my own testing, as well as feedback from other surfers.
The Zappa can be surfed in small weak waves right through to 4 foot average waves. They are incredibly fast and loose, and have a real skatey feel.
The fin set-up for the Zappa is a quad.

John was kind enough to let me try his Zappa Board today. The surf was typical Japan waves, about waist to chest high on the sets. The board rode beautifully and it was so easy to catch the waves! It's very easy to carve and float over mushy sections. I had a great time and definitely recommend one.
